Baby Love Community Health Worker:
The Baby Love Program is a community based, home visiting program of the University of Rochester, Strong Memorial Hospital, and Social Work Division. The program is seeking candidates for a Community Health Worker position. The Community Health Worker provides outreach supportive, concrete and case management services to women and teens of reproductive years and their families, residing in Rochester in an effort to improve their health, personal wellbeing and parenting skills. The Community Health Worker as a minimum must have a high school education.  Desired qualities include experience in a service related field, understanding of the targeted population’s culture and beliefs, familiarity with the neighborhoods served by the project, demonstration of empathy and acceptance of a variety of families, non- judgmental attitude, ability to work one-to-one in a supportive, nurturing relationship and capacity for requirements of documentation. Willingness to complete home visits and to transport clients is required. The Community Health Worker must have a registered vehicle and requisite insurance as well as a clean driving record in order to transport clients.
